About Geosciences
Geosciences (Earth science) are a study of where we live—Earth. We try to uncover the mysteries of phenomenon that occurred in the past by taking close looks at the atmosphere, the surface, the hydrosphere-like oceans, and the inner core that is the geosphere.
Education and research in the field of geosciences at the University of the Ryukyus are focused on marine geoscience, geoscience in the subtropics, and island geoscience.
